Kit without housing, price per speaker

Tigris is a 2-way high-end floorstanding loudspeaker with two ceramic woofers. An air motion transformer is used as the tweeter: the very linear and low-distortion Air Motion Transformer Audaphon AMT-1i. Two Accuton C173-11-191E woofers work in parallel. The Accuton woofers can also be found in very high-quality finished loudspeakers in the five-figure price range. The crossover consists of a 1st order high pass (6 dB/octave) for the tweeter, a suction circuit smooths the frequency response in the falling edge between 1000 Hz and 2500 Hz. A voltage divider lowers the tweeter level to the volume of the woofers. A capacitor parallel to the series resistor slightly increases the frequency response above 15 kHz. The two woofers are connected to a first order low pass (6 dB/octave). A suction circuit smooths out the membrane resonances of the hard ceramic membrane of the woofer. The frequency response of the loudspeaker box is very linear between 40 Hz and 21000 Hz. The decay spectrum is very fast and almost error-free. The non-linear distortions at low volumes (85 dB, 1m) are below 0.4% above 500 Hz and do not rise above 0.5% even at (95 dB, 1m).
