Hotan is a high-end two-and-a-half-way PA loudspeaker tuned for HiFi sound with two 15-inch woofers and a pressure chamber driver with a titanium membrane as the tweeter. The tweeter is the very linear driver-horn combination of Faital pro HF 200 and P-Audio PH-2380. Two Celestion FTR15-3070C are used as woofers. The loudspeaker was developed by Daniel Gattig and Dennis Frank. The crossover consists of a 3rd order high pass (18 dB/octave) for the tweeter. Two absorption circuits and a blocking circuit smooth out the frequency response. The woofer is connected to a first order filter (6 dB/octave). An absorption circuit smoothes out the frequency response. The mid-bass speaker is connected to a second order filter (12 dB/octave). The frequency response of the loudspeaker is very linear between 50 Hz and 15,000 Hz. The decay spectrum is almost flawless. The non-linear distortions at low volumes (85 dB, 1m) are below 0.5% above 200 Hz and do not rise above 0.5% even at (95 dB, 1m).

The high-end kit is equipped with copper foil and baked enamel coils in the important places to reduce the microphonic effect (the current through the coil generates a magnetic field, which in turn sets the winding in motion. This movement induces voltages in the coil, which are added to the useful signal. The tighter the winding of the coil, the less the useful signal is distorted.) All capacitors are of the MKP type and the capacitors for the tweeter - where quality is particularly important - are high-quality Clarity Cap ESA capacitors with 630 V.
