The Cherlen 6 dB is a 2-way high-end bass reflex floor-standing loudspeaker with Air Motion Transformer. It uses the excellent Audaphon AMT 1i as a tweeter and the outstanding Morel TSCM 634 as a woofer. The separation is done with 1st order filters (6 dB per octave) to prevent the sound image from breaking up and to prevent the speakers from being able to be located with your eyes closed. If you want the speaker with a steep separation, Cherlen is also available with a 12/18 dB crossover. The crossover consists of a 1st order high pass (6 dB / octave) for the tweeter. A first order low pass (6 dB / octave) is used for the woofer. The frequency response of the speaker is very balanced. The decay spectrum is almost flawless. The nonlinear distortions at low volumes (85 dB, 1 m) are below 0.2% above 600 Hz and remain below 0.6% even at higher volumes (95 dB, 1 m).

The high-end kit contains a ClarityCap ESA capacitor. The coil is designed as a Mundorf copper foil coil to reduce the microphonic effect (the current through the coil generates a magnetic field, which in turn sets the winding in motion. This movement induces voltages in the coil, which are added to the useful signal. The tighter the winding of the coil, the less the useful signal is distorted.)
