Accustand is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker with two Accuton woofers, each with a 114 mm voice coil. In the combination shown here, the loudspeaker shows a level of distortion that we have never experienced before! Accustand is a high-quality loudspeaker with chassis from Audaphon and Accuton, in which passive membranes are used for bass tuning. The loudspeaker contains the following chassis: - an Audaphon Neo APR 1.0 ribbon tweeter - two Accuton C168-6-890 woofers The crossover consists of: - a 1st order high pass filter (6 dB / octave) for the tweeter. - a 1st order low pass filter (6 dB / octave) for the woofer. The frequency response of the loudspeaker is perfectly linear. The decay spectrum is practically flawless. The non-linear distortion at low volumes (85 dB, 1 m) is less than 0.1% above 750 Hz and remains below 0.2% in the audible range even at higher levels (95 dB, 1 m).

The high-end kit is equipped with baked enamel coils or Mundorf cfc coils in the important places to reduce the microphonic effect (the current through the coil generates a magnetic field, which in turn sets the winding in motion. This movement induces voltages in the coil, which are added to the useful signal. The tighter the winding of the coil, the less the useful signal is distorted.) The capacitor for the Audaphon Neo APR 1.0 - where quality is particularly important - is a high-quality Mundorf Mcap Supreme EVO Silver Gold Oil 4.7 μF with 800V.
