Kit with high-end crossover without housing price per speaker

Bodega is a slim floor-standing loudspeaker with a Monacor chassis. It uses a Monacor SPH-135C as a woofer and the Monacor DT-254 as a tweeter. The loudspeaker was developed by Bernd Timmermanns. The loudspeaker is equipped with a bass reflex housing. The crossover consists of a 2nd order high pass (12 dB/octave) for the tweeter dome. A 2nd order low pass drives the woofer. Two suction circuits smooth out the frequency response of the woofer. The frequency response of the loudspeaker is very linear on axis between 30 Hz and 20,000 Hz. The decay spectrum is almost flawless. The non-linear distortions at medium volumes (90 dB, 1m) are below 0.5% above 500 Hz.

The high-end kit contains Clarity Cap SA 630V capacitors for the tweeter. All coils are designed as baked varnish air coils to reduce the microphonic effect (the current through the coil generates a magnetic field, which in turn sets the winding in motion. This movement induces voltages in the coil, which are added to the useful signal. The tighter the winding of the coil, the less the useful signal is distorted.)
