Big Block 3.0 is a three-way floor-standing loudspeaker with a very smooth frequency response and exemplary decay behavior. Big Block 3.0 is a high-quality loudspeaker with chassis from Audaphon and Wavecor, in which passive membranes are used for bass tuning. The loudspeaker contains the following chassis: - an air motion transformer (ribbon tweeter) Audaphon AMT 1i - a midrange speaker Wavecor WF182CU13 - a woofer Wavecor SW223BD02 and - a passive membrane PR223BD02 The loudspeaker was developed by Bernd Timmermanns. The crossover consists of: - a 3rd order high pass (18 dB / octave) for the tweeter. - a band pass consisting of a 2nd order high pass (12 dB / octave) and a 3rd order low pass (18 dB / octave) for the mid-woofer. - a 2nd order low-pass filter (12 dB / octave) for the woofer. The frequency response of the speaker is perfectly linear. The decay spectrum (waterfall diagram) is exemplary without any disturbing resonance. The non-linear distortions at medium volumes (90 dB, 1m) are below 0.32% above 100 Hz.

The high-end kit is equipped with baked enamel coils in the important places to reduce the microphonic effect (the current through the coil generates a magnetic field, which in turn sets the winding in motion. This movement induces voltages in the coil, which are added to the useful signal. The tighter the winding of the coil, the less the useful signal is distorted.) The capacitors for the Audaphon AMT 1i - where quality is particularly important - are high-quality Mundorf Supreme EVO oil capacitors with 800 V.
