Kura is a floor-standing loudspeaker that has an ideally sized loudspeaker for the highs, mids and lows. An air motion transformer is used for the highs, two Morel dome midrange speakers for the mids and two Wavecor woofers for the lows. The floor-standing loudspeaker is designed as a bass reflex loudspeaker. The Audaphon AMT 2i air motion transformer is used as the tweeter. An AMT was chosen because it reproduces the highs particularly lightly and airily. The midrange range should be reproduced by a midrange dome because it has good omnidirectional behavior in line with the wavelength of the emitted sounds. The Morel MDM55 midrange dome was chosen for this. The lows are produced by two Wavecor WF 182BD12 woofers. The crossover contains a 3rd order low-pass filter (18 dB per octave) that controls the two woofers. All other loudspeakers are driven by 2nd order high or low passes (12 dB per octave). The frequency response is quite linear on axis or at an angle of 15 degrees. On axis, the tweeter exaggerates slightly above 14 kHz. At an angle of 20 to 30 degrees, this exaggeration disappears. The non-linear distortions are extremely low at 85 dB (1m) sound pressure: they are well under 0.2% above 400 Hz. At 95 dB (1m) sound pressure, 0.5% is not exceeded in the frequency range between 400 and 10,000 Hz. This is quite excellent. The decay spectrum is flawless except for a resonance at around 500 Hz.
