A classic 17 cm woofer with a very linear and far-reaching frequency response.
Coated paper cone, double-folded rubber surround, phase plug dustcap, sturdy aluminum die-cast basket, strong drive and TSP that allow for small enclosure, bass reflex and TML as well as TQWT all housing variants.
Used as a mid-bass driver, as well as a high-performance midrange. The patched phase plug Dustcap stabilizes the membrane and largely prevents membrane resonance, in addition it helps to achieve a usable frequency range well above 4000 Hz.
The high efficiency also makes the W6-623C interesting for compact shelving and small floor standing speakers in 2-way systems.

... more conventionally, Tang Band built the magnet system with a ferrite outer ring and the usual overhanging voice coil design, and a membrane made of coated paper has been seen more often. A special feature lies in the construction of the rubber surround, which consists of two waves instead of the usual individual. This design avoids the otherwise commonly seen in low-loss beads resonance, which can lead to irregularities in the frequency response between 800 heart and 1.5 kilohertz.
Thus, the frequency response is exemplary up to two kilohertz, and then - measured axially - with an increase in the resonance-free roll-off to go ... so that the chassis can be operated up to three kilo heart. Distortion factor and on / off-swing behavior also offer no cause for criticism ...

With the W6-623C Tang Band offers a very reasonably priced, equipped with universal characteristics woofer, which provides in a small stand box together with a high-quality tweeter for extraordinary performances.
