Morel PRIMO PSL84 Subwoofer 8" Shallow - 4 Ohm

.

Morel's Primo SL series subwoofers are designed as a true shallow solution without compromises in sound quality. Unlike common "shallow" subwoofers that often sacrifice excursion or accuracy, the Primo SL offers a precisely engineered design focused on faithful and dynamic bass reproduction even in installations with very limited mounting depth and enclosure volume. Thanks to a carefully optimized motor, advanced suspension and thoughtful acoustic tuning, it delivers deep, controlled and musically natural bass even where conventional subwoofers are structurally insufficient. Primo SL models are available in diameters of 200 mm (8\") and 250 mm (10\") and are optimized for compact sealed and bass-reflex enclosures. They represent an ideal solution for modern cars where space saving is critical without sacrificing reproduction quality.

.

Shallow solution without compromises

The Primo SL was developed from the ground up as a full-featured subwoofer with a low mounting depth, not as a scaled-down variant of a classic model. The extremely shallow mounting depth of just 69.9 mm for the 8\" version and 89.4 mm for the 10\" version enables installation in places where a standard subwoofer could not be used. Yet it retains a linear excursion of ±10 mm and stable cone control even under higher loads.

.

Stiff carbon cone for fast response

The carbon-fiber cone stands out for its exceptional stiffness-to-weight ratio. As a result it provides quick transient response, minimal distortion and a natural integration with the rest of the system, delivering a firm, precise and musically intelligible bass. In practice this means better control even at higher volumes, where the driver maintains stability and does not degrade recording detail. The result is a refined, dynamic presentation with a clearly defined bass-line structure that supports the music without overpowering it.

.

Stable performance even in compact spaces

The robust Uniflow™ stamped steel basket minimizes unwanted resonances while optimizing airflow around the motor. A large 2\" voice coil with an aluminum former and copper winding ensures stable performance and efficient heat dissipation even under prolonged loads. The rear-vented magnetic system further improves cooling and increases operational reliability. Optimized for small enclosure volumes, the Primo SL offers excellent control in sealed boxes and a pronounced dynamic performance in bass-reflex configurations, all without the need for large installation spaces.
