DAC upgraded from ES9068AS to AKM flagship DAC combination AK4191EQ+AK4499EX. Headphone amplifier upgraded to THX 78+, with a 54% increase in output power at 32Ω and a remarkable 162% increase at 300Ω when the Super Large Ear Mode is activated. Added an independent desktop mode switch, allowing for one-key activation of the desktop mode. Introduced a separate charging and power supply interface. When using POWER IN for charging, the Super Charge Pump can be activated, reaching a maximum charging current of 5.5A. Charging nearly 50% can be achieved in half an hour, 80% in one hour, and a full charge takes only 2 hours, reducing charging time by 43% compared to M11Plus.

Like the Q15 and K9 AKM, the FiiO M23 uses the flagship AKM DAC combo - the AK4191EQ+AK4499EX. This is a new design that completely separates the digital and analog parts and also features "DWA ROUTING Technology" to further improve the signal-to-noise ratio.

These technologies provide a purer sound background and higher resolution - and thus a relaxed and natural sound.

Patented desktop mode, activated with one click

For the first time in FIIO players, the FiiO M23 has a special switch for switching the desktop mode (D.MODE). When the desktop mode is activated, the FiiO M23 is fully powered by an external power source. The built-in battery is neither charged nor discharged, so the M23 can be used as a desktop device without fear of battery damage.

When using the desktop mode continuously, the battery should not be charged above 80%.

After several years of continuous design development, we introduce the THX AAA 78+ amplifier architecture in the M23. It enables higher output power with high fidelity, resulting in powerful sound reproduction with extreme precision.

High-quality HiFi audio architecture, 4 amplification stages

The FiiO M23 features a high-quality audio architecture consisting of DAC, I/V, LPF, voltage amplification and parallel amplification stages. The I/V and LPF stages are handled by 2 low-noise and high-precision OPA1612 operational amplifiers. The voltage amplification is handled by 2 low-noise, high-bandwidth OPA1662 operational amplifiers.

Together, these operational amplifiers ensure precise reproduction of audio signals with sufficient output power, so that a wide range of headphones and IEMs can work well with the player, which can be adjusted even better thanks to the four amplification stages.

Top-class HiFi components that are bursting with quality

The I/V, LPF and THX amplifier parts of the audio circuit use a large number of high-precision film capacitors. The LPF section uses 8 Panasonic film capacitors. Together, the capacitors provide a very detailed and also very stable sound as they help make the left and right channels and the output of each frequency band more consistent

FiiO's extensive experience in developing power supplies for portable HiFi audio players is fully exploited in the M23. With a four-stage and 20-rail power supply, the M23 is equipped with a robust power supply that provides a solid foundation for both the analog and digital parts of the audio circuitry.

Analog audio power supply

The analog audio power supply not only has separate power rails for the DAC, small signal amplification and large amplifier sections, but also uses four stages of power processing - OVP, adaptive voltage stabilization, high efficiency voltage boost, π filtering and LDOO voltage stabilization. All in all, this means that the portable M23 has a power supply comparable to that of desktop devices.

Dual-mode fast charging, safe 30W charging

The FiiO M23 features a dual-mode fast charging system that uses extreme fast charging and normal fast charging. When the battery is low, extreme fast charging is used to provide a safe charging speed of up to 30W. When the battery is nearing full charge, the M23 switches to the slightly slower normal fast charging, which provides a significantly improved charging time without damaging the battery. The figures are based on tests in the FiiO laboratories. The actual charging time may vary depending on the environment and conditions. Please note that the use of fast chargers always has a negative impact on the battery life. We recommend charging with a maximum of 2A/5V.

DAPS Digital Audio Purification System, global original sampling rate output - Bit perfect

The DAPS (Digital Audio Purification System) that the M23 is equipped with consists of FiiO's proprietary HiFi audio core that bypasses the original Android version and a low-jitter coprocessor. Together, the system not only provides a unified, high-precision and low-jitter clock source, but also ensures that the original sampling rate of the audio stream (both PCM and DSD) is preserved whether you use FiiO Music, third-party apps, USB DAC mode, etc. By avoiding audio resampling, you can be sure that the audio data is much closer to the original.

The 10-band PEQ with FiiO's proprietary tuning algorithm can be used in any operating mode.
