The zero-ohm coil (NOS) is a special form of the transformer core coil. It goes without saying that it is also made of FERON. With the NOS, an air gap is manually measured and precisely adjusted between the two laminated cores used (I and E core). It determines the inductance of the coil and requires the greatest care during assembly. It must not be too small, otherwise saturation effects will occur at high loads. The high production costs of the NOS are always justified when the highest impulse fidelity of the reproduction is important. Internal resistances are possible with our NOS, which cannot be realized with other coils.
There are several solutions to reduce the miking effect: The somewhat cheaper solution uses a wire (baked enamel wire) for winding, which bakes together in a subsequent tempering process. This solution is preferred at Mundorf for wire diameters below 2 mm. Above this diameter, the miking effect can be reduced by vacuum soaking, or by using foil coils, which you can find below with copper foil or higher quality materials.
Note: The following power specifications Pmax were determined at an ambient temperature of 20 degrees and with free air exchange (free convection) for 8 ohm loudspeakers. They are guidelines! Since we do not produce the coils, we cannot assume any liability for them.
