Only FERON™ is used as the core material for the manufacture of the transformer core coils. This high-quality starting material is subsequently heat-treated in a special process. This gives FERON™ a crystal lattice structure that has optimal magnetic properties. Such core material is preferably used for the production of high-quality audio transformers. It can be used to produce coils with very low internal resistance and extreme resilience. Both are crucial prerequisites for a precise deep bass. The achievable ratios of inductance to internal resistance cannot be achieved at all with pure air-core coils, or can only be achieved with significantly greater financial effort.

In non-impregnated coils, the winding will vibrate due to the current flowing through the coil. The microphonic effect, i.e. the conversion of mechanical vibrations into electrical ones, adds these vibrations to the original signal as additional information. As a result, details of the original signal are overlaid and rendered unrecognizable. The music loses spatiality and transparency.

There are several solutions to reduce the miking effect: The somewhat cheaper solution uses a wire (baked enamel wire) for winding, which bakes together in a subsequent tempering process. Under 2 mm wire diameter, this solution is preferred at Mundorf (spools whose name begins with BT). Above this diameter, the miking effect can be reduced by using vacuum traps (coils whose name starts with VT) or by using foil coils, which you can find below with copper foil or higher quality materials.
