Designed for discerning music lovers who appreciate both powerful sound levels and precise sound quality, this subwoofer offers an outstanding combination of innovative technology, robust construction, and unparalleled flexibility. Its specially developed Tunable Mass System (TMS) allows for individual adjustment of the bass response, enabling it to reach its full potential in any application – whether in compact sealed enclosures or powerful bass-reflex enclosures.
.
Maximum Performance for the Deepest Bass
With a recommended power range of 300 to 750 watts RMS, the HELIX IQ W12-DVC2 has a wide range of applications and is particularly optimized for high-performance amplifier configurations. Its robust construction ensures consistently precise reproduction, even at high levels over extended periods. The 3-layer fiberglass-Mylar honeycomb cone combines maximum rigidity with optimal internal damping, minimizing distortion and delivering dynamic, controlled bass reproduction. Outstanding impulse response ensures that even complex bass lines are reproduced clearly and precisely without sacrificing definition.
A highly efficient cooling system with a large pole piece vent and flow-optimized basket design ensures continuous airflow. This prevents overheating and thermal compression effects, allowing the subwoofer to deliver consistently high performance even under sustained load.
.
Tuneable Mass System (TMS) – Fine-tuning your sound
With the innovative Tunable Mass System (TMS), the HELIX IQ W12-DVC2 offers a completely new way to customize your sound. By selectively adding or removing weights within the dust cap, the subwoofer's moving mass can be adjusted. This adjustment alters the Thiele/Small parameters, directly influencing the subwoofer's resonant frequency, overall Q factor, and efficiency.
Depending on the chosen configuration, the sound signature changes significantly. Without added weight, the resonant frequency remains in the upper range, resulting in exceptionally fast impulse response and high efficiency. This tuning is ideal for volume-optimized setups and precise bass reproduction with maximum headroom. With increasing mass, the resonant frequency decreases, allowing the subwoofer to reproduce lower frequencies with greater impact. This is particularly advantageous for sealed enclosures or low-tuned bass-reflex designs, as it enables a particularly voluminous and powerful bass response.
The ability to adjust the moving mass allows for precise tuning of the subwoofer to the specific enclosure volume and the vehicle's acoustics. While a higher moving mass allows for a lower cutoff frequency, a lower mass maintains higher efficiency, enabling the subwoofer to operate efficiently even with moderate amplifier power. This unique flexibility makes the HELIX IQ W12-DVC2 a perfect choice for anyone who expects the highest sound precision and maximum adaptability.
