Entering a new size

The name says it all: The new HELIX DSP ULTRA is anything but another signal processor with just more channels. Rather, it is the next technological milestone that impressively demonstrates Audiotec Fischer's expertise in the field of DSP technology.

TwinDSP power

Processing power can only be replaced by even more computing power, which is why the DSP ULTRA features two of Analog Devices' most powerful 64-bit audio signal processors. An incredible 2.4 billion MAC operations per second make possible the twelve separately processed channels and the multitude of new audio features in combination with the high 96 kHz sampling rate (resulting in over 40 kHz audio bandwidth).

ACO - Advanced 32-bit platform

Fast processing power not only in the signal path - the particularly fast 32-bit ACO platform takes care of all control tasks and ensures a decisive increase in speed, especially for data communication with our DSP PC-Tool software , but also for lightning-fast switching between up to ten possible sound configurations. But ACO offers much more: great sound effects such as Augmented Bass Processing or StageXpander are implemented as well as a channel-separated input EQ including Input Signal Analyzer (ISA) for easy analysis and compensation of OE radio input signals, which include already a sound setting ex works. HELIX DSP ULRA justifies its name not only in terms of functionality, but also in terms of sound quality. An extremely complex and newly developed analog input stage guarantees phenomenal sound characteristics with a high-resolution audio bandwidth of up to over 40 kHz. Virtual Channel Processing - a new era of signal routing begins

Adaptation to modern OE audio systems via an increasing number of inputs has a significant impact on the complexity of signal routing within the processor. Especially when several input signals are mixed together and then split again into multi-way systems, conventional routing concepts quickly reach their limits, both in terms of implementation and usability. Audiotec Fischer's new multi-stage "Virtual Channel Processing" in combination with the recognized and user-friendly DSP PC-Tool software simplifies the realization of even extremely complex system configurations. It also allows you to freely assign our proprietary audio FX functions such as "RealCenter" or "StageEQ".

Absolute connectivity

Simple adaptation to existing factory radios or multi-channel OE audio systems is more important than ever - which is why the DSP ULTRA is not only equipped with the latest generation ADEP.3 circuit, but also offers a particularly large adjustment range for the input sensitivity. The enormous range of 1 - 8 Volts (RCA) or 4 - 32 Volts (high level) allows the combination with almost every conceivable analog signal source, even with OE high-power amplifiers.

Real Center

The "RealCenter" function is an algorithm, developed by Audiotec Fischer, which emphasizes the music information present in the front left and right channel to create a unique center signal. Contrary to common procedures, in which only the channels are summarized, the intensity of the central signal is also dynamically controlled by the stereophonic information content of the left and right channel. It sounds complicated but this effect is amazing: this means that if only the left or right channel is providing an audio signal, the center channel will not reproduce a signal. In the case of common algorithms, the volume level of the center channel is only reduced by 6 dB (= half volume level). Audiotec Fischer's "RealCenter" enables a unique and expanded sound staging for driver and co-driver at the same time! Therefore, the disadvantages of a conventional center channel, such as a small intrusive soundstage, are a thing of the past.

Increased bass processing

Audiotec Fischer's proprietary "Augmented Bass Processing", consisting of the two revolutionary sound functions "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" and "SubXpander", was specially developed to significantly improve the bass reproduction of subwoofers. The "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" ingeniously combines deep bass and maximum sound pressure, regardless of the musical style or the tone controls in the headunit. Depending on the input signal, "Dynamic Bass Enhancement" gains the lower frequency range and varies the cutoff frequency of the subsonic filter. The result is significantly more powerful and deeper bass response at low and mid volume levels without the risk of overloading the subwoofer either mechanically or electrically at high volume levels. It is simply fascinating what bass performance is suddenly possible. If you want an even lower and "darker" bass reproduction, you can also activate "SubXpander". Thus, subharmonic tones are added to the fundamental tones in the frequency range of 50 to 100 Hz.

StageXpander

Depending on the loudspeaker arrangement in the vehicle, a more or less wide stereo stage can be created in the front seats. A center speaker can further limit the spatial reproduction of music. This is where Audiotec Fischer's new “StageXpander” comes into play, an audio function that appears to break acoustical limitations and thus allows you to create a wider stereo base without negatively affecting the accuracy of locating vocals or instruments! The effect can be adjusted to your personal preference in four steps.

ClarityXpander

Looking for more transparency and substance in treble reproduction? With the "ClarityXpander" Audiotec Fischer now offers the right tool. When properly adjusted (and therefore selectable in three steps), the function adds further harmonics in the upper frequency range; this is especially useful if your original speakers lack some sparkle in their treble response. The extra treble kick is not only available for the front two channels, but is separately adjustable for the center channel. Even better: the center channel allows you to activate an automatic dynamic control so that music with "loads" of treble does not tire your ears.
