Since its introduction, the subwoofer has been an insider tip for the following applications: 
- High-quality home cinema installations 
- Small PA systems for restaurants / bars etc. 
- Generally subwoofers in the range from 20 Hz to approx. 150 Hz.

The advantage of a 25 cm subwoofer is the rigid membrane combined with the low mass. 
All larger formats need more mass to keep the membrane stable. And more drive ...
